As we all know language is a tool of conveying our thoughts and feelings or emotions. But nowadays this is not only a communication tool, it has become an inseparable part of our life. And there are innumerable languages in the whole world. But the first language(depends on where we are born) which we learn so far is our native language or we can say our mother language, and it is very easy for us to learn. But to merge with the world we have to learn more languages. Nowadays this is necessary to know more than at least two languages in any field.
There are three terms which identify how many languages you know.
Bilingualism
Trilingualism
Multilingualism

Bilingualism
Fluency in use of two languages
It is a phenomenon of speaking and understanding two languages. Nowadays it is very common to know more than one language. India is a diverse country and there are a total 23 (along with English) languages in India spoken by people. Hindi and English are official and associated languages of India which connect all states in a one country.
Gujarati + English
દૂરદર્શન ~ Television
મુલ્ય પત્રિકા ~ Bus ticket
ક્રીડાંગણ ~ Stadium, playground
Hindi + English
गमनागमन के साधन ~ Vehicle
बीज-प्रश्न ~ seed question
Marathi + Hindi

तुझं नाव काय आहे? ~ तुम्हारा नाम क्या है?
These are the examples of knowing two languages.
Trilingualism

Trilingualism is a phenomenon for the people who know more than two languages. Or we can say knowing at least three languages.
English + Hindi + Gujarati
