Frame Reading: Rivers and Tides

"Art for me is a form of nourishment,"

From the Ancient times we find the human world has grown with nature.  We are the product of nature. Transitory and transformation is natural, time is passing through all of us. Though we tried to hold the time by preserving things. We are regretful for the past and worried about the future. But what about the present time? We forgot to live our present. It is said that tomorrow never comes and never dies. But what we kill, is our today. With the help of nature and philosophy Andy Goldsworthy has shown the true pleasure and happiness of living life with the flow of time.

British Sculptor, photographer and environmentalist Andy Goldsworthy is a nature artist. His momentary landscape art installation out of sticks, stones, leaves, plants, stalks, clay, ice, snow and anything he finds outside. In this documentary by Thomas Riedelsheimer we can find appreciation and worshipping of the natural world by Andy Goldsworthy and his philosophy towards life and nature.

Beauty of Art is not what you get after working hard but beauty of art lies in the process of it. The real joy and pleasure lies in the presence, in the journey of life. Here I have taken some frames from this documentary to read by my understanding.

The flow of the river shows the flowing of time. We can not hold it. In our lives we should've been constantly moving ahead rather than stuck at one place. River is the best example of moving constantly.

It is the nature of ice to melt. Though by working hard Andy Goldsworthy made a beautiful art with ice, which definitely destroys after passing of some time. The design he had made is similar to the flow of the river, it is similar with the pattern of river flowing.

'Nothing is ever lost in the universe. There is always something to be cherished in this kind of environmental art'
